The Tribulation At Hand

The tribulation that the world is suffering today is very real, and will likely to escalate towards the description in Matt.24:21: “For then shall be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as was not since the beginning the of the world, no, nor ever shall be.”
This is incomparable! The Bible did not even compare it to Noah’s Flood. It would be unique from any famine, pestilence, wars, or any catastrophe that happened in the past.

In the Bible history, there occurred a Seven years of famine in the world during the time of Joseph, and only Egypt was able to prepare (Gen. 41:30);

During the time of Ahab, king of Israel, there was three years of drought and famine, as a sanction emposed to the people of Israel who turned away from God, and served the heathen gods instead, as pronounced by Prophet Elijah. (1 Kings 17:1, 18:1)

And there were prophecies about famine, pestilence and wars foretold by prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Amos, and Jesus Himself to take place in the last days, and that day is fulfilling on our days, today.

The tribulation may have two possible causes:
* Man-made calamities, like wars, that would possibly unleash nuclear weapons, chemical weapons and biological weapons.

* Natural calamities, like earthquake, typhoon, hurricane, tornado, El Niño, (drought) La Niña (flash floods), Tsunami, hailstorm, and pandemic.
However, all these things are  associated with irresponsible living of the human race, by defiance of the laws of nature. And our present world is now on the process of receiving all those consequences.

The initial famine the world is facing right now is the shortage of oil energy. And because of this shortage, it will imminently results to a massive domino-effect damage in all countries in the world in its economy, that will trigger into global multiple crisis.

To mention a few:
* Food crisis – food shortage, that would initiate global panic buying, or nothing to buy at all; and
* A possible Total Blackout in some countries, (if not globally) will likely to happen, that means, no electricity, no internet; and no transportation.

How do various studies describe this event?
* The Bible describe this event as: The great tribulation; Jacob’s trouble; perilous times; battle of Armageddon.
* Ellen G. While in her books, describes this as: The Great Controversy; Impending Conflict of the ages; The Last Day Events
* Ecologist, Scientific forecasts  describe this as: Global Warming, Global Holocausts; World War 3.
* The Hollywood movies portrayed it as: The day after tomorrow; World War Z; Independence Day; Zombieland; The Rapture; and etc.

What is the bottom-line of this Conflict?

The reality about this conflict is, it’s is the continues battle between Christ and Satan that started from heaven, which was and is the battle between good and evil, that is determined to end on this earth, in our time.

Now, what shall we do, in order to survive?

There is no substitute to preparation. The preparation must be both material and spiritual aspects.
Like Joseph in Egypt, when God sends the advance information through Pharaoh’s dream that there would be seven years of abundance, and after that, a seven years of famine will follow, Pharaoh appointed Joseph to do the task of the preparation for the incoming events: to take time of the seven years of abundance in gatherings, in order to be able to survive the next seven years of famine. (Gen 41:29-54)

It’s not enough to have known and believe in God who will save you in times of trouble. That kind of faith could be superficial, when you do not take your part to prepare to face the more severe crisis ahead.
God gave us knowledge of the events to come; the clue, that the tribulation is now on the onset, so that we can apply into wisdom to perceive the possiblity of the things to happen before hand, in order to make thorough preparation and avoid or lessen the possible sufferings that may incur thereon.

Well, it may appear for us to be fortunate of being living witnesses of this spectacular event, however, we could also be the most unfortunate beings to become victims and suffer the worst of the tribulations in the history, since the creation of the earth.

However, it could also be the most blessed and glorious moment in life for those who have done the necessary preparations that heaven has prescribed. It’s an opportunity to experience intimate bonding moment with God; spending sweet honeymoon with our beloved Husband, the Lamb, and experience the actual companionship with God. Whether you live or die in that event, the most important is that, you are in right relationship with Him till the end.

“Blessed is the man that endureth temptation for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love them.” (James 1:12)

“But He knows the way that I take: when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold.”
(Job 23:10)

May this article sheds light to everyone, that we be smarter enough to perceive God’s leadings and guidance, as we face life at present, and the days beyond.

Godspeed!
